Looking to breed my lab. Question

The female I want to breed my dog with is going into heat. Does it matter if you take my male to her house or the female to my house? Or does it matter at all? Thank you! This is Duke!

It really depends on the dogs. Some dogs - male or female - can get performance anxiety around strangers in unfamiliar places. Some are just totally unaffected by their environment.
As a breeder, I prefer to have the male come here so I can monitor everything and make sure they are bred on the right days. And I really just don't trust anyone else to be responsible with my *****. Last time, we used a dog that lived conveniently close to us, so it wasn't a big deal for me to drive over there every other day for three days, get the dogs bred and go home but if the dog and ***** are separated by a great distance, I would prefer to have the stud dog stay in a kennel at my home for a few days.

A friend of the family bought his "in season "chesapeake bay retreiver over to breed with mine when he was around 1.5 years old and I was worried about some of these same issues. Basically what happened was we held the dogs on leads to start them getting used to each other then cut them loose 15min later he was slapping her in to place and the deal was getting done.

If she is a maiden female I would put a muzzle on her. Seen it numerous times the calmest females turning on my dog as she is not sure what's going on.

                              Better safe than sorry.
