I'd find a used Zeiss conquest.

        This!

Vortex makes some great scopes but NONE of them are on the lower price point scopes.

At $500 budget the Leupold mentioned is the easy answer

A Meopta is twice the scope of a Leupold or Vortex in the same price range.

I’m an admitted Leupold fan. I’ll have to see this for myself.

No experience with scopes but I’m a year in on my binoculars and they are money!

Do it. Test it out. Bc I’m interested in your findings.

You can get a nice Leupold with cash left over. I've had good luck with the Vortex Diamondback also, with eye problems the fast focus eye piece is helpful.

4-16x50 viper has treated me good! Can easily be found under $500. Only downside to this one is the .5 MOA Adjustments but it does come with a soft zero stop, side parallax, and a covered windage knob.
