Offer is for him to pay you for every hog you kill!!! It’s helping him not you lol.

Honestly if it’s year round unlimited access then a couple grand should be sufficient I would think.

I have land leased to hog hunters. They dont pay a whole lot for the lease but they make alot of improvements thoughout the year. Not to mention they have feeders running year round that help the deer.

330 acres $10 per acre divided by 4 hunters equals a fair price for you and the owner

OP it really depends on how bad you want to hunt hogs on the place. Me personally, I keep corn in his feeder in exchange for unlimited hog hunting.

Oh no I donít pay to shoot hogs. I have access to unlimited numbers of pigs. I was just responding to OP but even then I think itís crazy to even considering paying for a ďpigĒ lease

Same here. Probably way cheaper to buy pork at a store and way better eating. But if I had younger kids that loved to hunt maybe just keep a feeder full and roads trimmed and use my kids as labor. Lol

Well I see 2 sides. I don't have a lease so forced to hunt public unless something comes up (oh so painful not enough public land) so I'd pay a small fee. 1000 is way too much, public is cheaper but much less convenient. A couple good ideas above, but If I'm feeding corn it wont be much.

If I had a lease I'd only do this for free, however I would supply some corn to get it moving and maybe keep it going.

Just depends on your situation.

I think you would be suprised to know you dont have to pay for a “lease”.

Get to know a landowner. Create a relationship with them. Thru trust and understanding, as they realize you are not a risk to their property, a lot will allow you to hunt for free.

Offer up to so some work to improve the place. Set them up a place to hunt if that is something they would appreciate. Take then a nice bottle or something as a gesture of thank you in the holiday season. Lots of ways to have a place to go and maybe creat a new friendship out of the deal.

Hogs are my favorite animal to hunt, hands down. Iíll be honest, if I could find a year round place within an hr of me with consistent hogs, Iíd pay a pretty penny for it.

This is how itís done. Then word generally spreads pretty quick to other landowners if you are responsible and kill a lot of pigs. Just make sure to leave places better than you found them. Close gates, donít throw your trash out, drag dead animals out of the field unless they say otherwise, etc. Lot of landowners arenít a fan of hunters tearing up their roads when itís muddy either.

Depends. Are you just going to casually hunt the hogs or actually try and control them ? I controlled hogs back when I hunted them , I didn’t pay anything and had more country then time. If you are going to just hunt them with a bow or gun off feeders then a few grand a year for access would probably be good.

I don't hunt much anymore and I was never a "hog hunter". Killed several in the deer hunting process, mainly to protect the deer hunting. Back when I was hunting regularly landowners would beg you to kill as many as possible. Had a few who provided traps. Seems now it's a money making proposition on the land owners part. Pay for a hog lease or pay extra to kill hogs or pay for a day/guided hunt. Not for me.

I think it is great that you guys have a good relationships with land owners that they trust you to hunt their property. So many hunters aren’t good stewards of the land and ruin it for others. My hunters take great care of my property and I grant them access to hunt all other game as well. Good luck and great hunting! Keep up the good work!

Iím not currently paying on my local place here but if for some reason I lost it, I dang sure would consider it with as much fun as I have bowhunting them. I love it.. ďsee a pig shoot a pig... kill a pig!Ē Take out the straps and hindquarters if I want, and leave the rest for the yotes.

There is no ďhow much does he score, how old is he, is he big enough, is he better than my last one or is he mature enough to take?.. no disagreements over age/score, nor who am I gonna **** off by shooting this ? ď

See a pig shoot a pig. Great offseason bowhunting fun.

I’d hunt hogs everyday if I had the time. I’m sitting in the blind right now watching it rain. Shot one already at 6:30. My feeder doesn’t go off until 7:00. I sure hope we never get to a point of paying landowners $2,000 for the right to hunt pigs. Can’t imagine what that would do to deer lease pricing. It’s already too high.

Ok. True, but we are talking about paying a fee to hunt hogs. The question was how much to pay. Obviously they have some value. They are made out of pork. .

Depends if you want to be able to hunt it or not

Most people won’t lease it unless it is beneficial for having someone around there.

Hogs aren’t bothering him it sounds like

I bet $2500 would get it done

Less than that he probably would not want the hassle of someone running around his property
