These Will Save you Some Grief.....

The Woodford Iowa freeze proof yard hydrants are the standard here in the Midwest, but would work great in Texas as well. They drain down and are freeze proof as long as your water hose is disconnected. You got to make sure that the bottom of the hydrant and the gravel sump is installed below the frost line in your area.

I plan on replacing 3 of my outside faucets with these. Just haven’t slowed down long enough to do it.

I haven’t seen those in years. Grew up in Missouri using them.

That's all I have as I used to hate wrapping faucets.

I put in two when I built my house a couple years ago. One at the carport and one by the shop.

Had problems with the seal going out on em so I just put a cut off valve and drain in a box. Shut the valve off and drain all water out of spigots

I had two installed last summer. They are great.

We have several around our place they work great until they leak. Ours are all from TSC Atwoods or Lowe’s. May have to order one of these and see how they do look much more robust. Problem we ran into is if they don’t shut off completely at the bottomn they still push as small amount of water up and freeze.

We have not had any problems with our two hydrants. They are only 2.5 years in service at this time. You can get a repair kit here. Watch video.
