Parker's experiences and joy of being in 'the camp' is what it's all about. He may forget a lot of things in his lifetime, but these times won't be forgotten.

Man I hope youíre right. He may or may not forget about some of the little details but you can bet the farm his daddy and me wonít! Hitting the sack later than Iíd planned but itís against the law to not drink one dead! 4:45 will be early but we earned the head ache! I think Parks and Trav are gonna make one more and head home so he can get back to making straight Aís and chasing women. Itís been an awesome couple of days. Good Lord willing weíll put the cherry on top in the morning.

Trav is on doe patrol at the stand Iíve been hunting and Iím headed to one I havenít been to this year.Iíll definitely have another layer on this morning!

Got a doe at the feeder but the field is a ghost town. I snuck in with the moon and didn’t bust anything to my knowledge.

Curious what came of those knuckleheads cutting donuts in your pasture? Just some random Ďfuní or mad at the day leasing?

Anyway, good luck on the rest of the season. Been a fun follow thus far.

Gonna be real quick. Trav and Parks went home and I’m hunting this evening. I saw my target buck walking in and I’m 99% certain heMs bedded with a doe less than 200yds from the stand. If he gets to where I can see him I’ll pull a stalk. If not I’ll wait him out. I have never gotten a great look at his headgear but best I can tell he’s a 7+ year old 9pt that’ll be in the 140’s somewhere.

Boys I want to cry... I had the cedars pinned that he was in and watching like a hawk. A group of 9 does came in and took him across the spot of private. They come back in on me, quick glance with the binos, ranged at 344, hooked up solid on the shooting sticks, click the safety off, and one last glance... It’s a twin 3yo 9 Man that makes me want to kick a baby! I’m starting to get the shakes and need to kill one but I can’t kill a baby. I can inly think of 1 year since I was 7 years old that I carried 3 buck tags into December. It’s early though and Ol Big may still show his face.

I never heard back from the SOís on it but we havenít seen them on the road since. Funny you ask though... We went to town for a burger yesterday and got to visiting with the gentleman working there. His wife owns the place and turns out heís a Sheriff Deputy. Somehow that confrontation got brought up and he knew EXACTLY who it was. This SD had been in a shoot out with this same guyís brother a few years back! Proof that God takes care of stupid people because I had FULL intentions of knocking on the guys door and having a conversation with him until I pulled up and there was 10+ vehicles and guys with guns slung over their shoulders. I called the SO then and things seemed to have worked themselves out.

3 nice bucks across the field harassing the does. Iíll try and get a grainy pic off of my video camera.

Man he is definitely super cool!

Feeder spun and for 10min it looked like everything was getting ready to happen. Deer poured out from everywhere and then a 6pt came and took all of them back to the north. Thereís a big framed deer 400 yards to the south but the grass is too high to call what it is.

I know that feeling. Last year was first time in 38 years I didnt punch a tag. This year isn't looking too promising either. Used to have a nice slam dunk set up at the house. Neighbor on one side decided to set up a horse arena and other neighbor feels like he needs to build something every year during deer season. Between the 2 of them they can sure make some racket. Haven't seen of had pics of a legit shooter in a couple of years now.

Hopefully I get the lake house finished up at Cassels Boykin and can put in time in Angelina and San Augustine county of the National forest in the future. Or just fish!

3 does that were at the feeder fed off to the north. 3 more working in from the south but I’m not seeing any horns on this end of the field.

Good thing about the winds picking up at night is it might keep them from feeding all night under the full moon. Might make them too nervous and go bed up.

Looks pretty solid this morning for you tho!

That wind bothers them absolutely zero up here. Theyíre more nervous about no wind than high wind. It changes where they get to a degree but makes them predictable as hell. Way different than home.

Sorry about this morning boys. I was in the blind when I realized Iíd left my phone in the truck. I did see a really nice low 140ís 9pt that I talked myself out of. TShelly and I had a good long talk today and just like I told him. Score means almost nothing to me. Iím definitely not above shooting one in the 130ís or 140ís but he needs to have some stuff going in that makes me want to kill him.

Iím headed in and running behind. Going back to the same field as yesterday evening and I dressed to be mobile if I need to be. I fixed my .280 and got my 7mm Mag dialed in. Iím excited about this evening!
