I have hunted out west many times and to this point never really documented the experience the way it should be. The next trip i would like to make a better effort to do this. I have a cheap sony camera ill take but was looking for options for GoPro type cameras as well. Are there any competing cameras that are decent?

The knockoff GoPro cameras on Amazon work well for video. Never tested them for audio quality as all the videos I've done with them are underwater.Comment

I use the "Apeman" branded knockoffs from Amazon. They work absolutely great. The ones i purchased didn't have a lens shield. Thats the only thing I will do different next time as I have already scratched the lens from heavy use. Though the scratch are not visible on the video.Comment

I have a pile of those gopro knockoff from Amazon, and most work just fine, usually $40-$50. They are great for videos of the hunter, and anything close up. They are no good whatsoever for videos of your shots on animals. You need a much better camera with zoom. A deer at 20 yards will look like a squirrel at a 100 yards. Those cameras a very wide angle, 120 to 180 degrees.Comment
