Those buffalo really do look at you like you owe them money.

So, did the guy pass the test on the lion charge?

    Incredible pics and experience. Wow.

      Yes, he nailed the lion.

If you open the image and zoom in you will see where he hit the lion.
      He used a 404 Jeff

Close encounter with a Dagha Boy

This boy and us only became aware of each other when we were about 40 yards apart.

He skirted over the rise and as he moved I saw he had a fresh snare wound on the left hind leg...

These guys become very grumpy and we were lucky he did not decided to give us a buffalo rodeo...

                    Awesome pics.

So, how often do you actually have to discharge a firearm? Close Encounters of the Dangerous Kind... I see a story book in the future.

It is very rare that you need to chamber a round and even more so to actually fire a shot.
You need to give the animal the benefit of the doubt and you will only shoot once its less than 15 yards from you in full charge.

This is why we walked so much and worked hard to get encounters with Dangerous Game. To learn behavior and to learn how to read the behavior...

For the majority of the time I walked with the Canon 7D Mkii and the 70-200 2,8f Canon lens.

My Canon 70D with the Sigma 150-600 Sport was used mostly in camp and on walks where we focused on birding.

                          Hope this helps ... [emoji2]
