I was looking to buy a 2006 Chevy Silverado today and tge odometer is reading 0. I drove it around for 9 miles and it went up to 9. What caused it to not Read properly? Would there be any problems in the future if I purchase this truck?

If it was recently replaced, this will give an idea but it’ll cost a little bit. Like $60 as I recall.
Get a Bluetooth interface like FIXD, plug it in and read it through the associated app on your phone. It should give a complete history of any recorded repair, though that does require the repairs to have actually been reported in.
You might be able to get the info from checking the VIN through CarFax. Again, that would require the repair to have actually been reported.

It is one of three things.
1 They changed the cluster because it had issues. Those clusters were know for stepper motor failure. I changed a few in my old truck.
2 They changed the cluster to hide the mileage.
3 They rolled it back. I'd say this is the least likely. I don't think anybody would roll it all the way back to zero.
