No. 5 cellular cameras and 4 more regular trailcams for 15 days. I drove the ranch every 3 days looking for buzzards etc.... probably looked at 20,000 pictures trying to find him. He had lost a lot of weight and the wound was pretty nasty.

Kinda looks that way. He was down 60-70 lbs and was not really using the leg effectively. Coyotes were a big fear of mine too.

I was hunting cull bucks when he stepped out. He was in bad shape. This was a mercy kill. Zach will get the antlers and cape. I'll make a set of replicas for myself.

The wounded/sick deer was 197 7/8

Low in the leg. Deer had lost quite a bit of weight and the wound was very infected with a material amount of **** and fluid leaking from the wound.

No. Hunter is very accomplished and "buck fever" was not at play, IMO. I have watched him make plenty of perfect shots on big deer. This one just didn't work out as planned.
