At most, this should have been Criminally Negligent Homicide (2 years max) and not Manslaughter. It sure does not seem to fit the elements of Manslaughter.
    Agreed

Very few times is there a true accident. Most times it’s a series of incompetent and or negligent decisions. Really sad !

Agreed. If you're going to pick up a gun, use a gun, etc. you best know and follow the rules.

Word. Weapons conditions and Firearm safety rules.

I got handed a rifle at a gun store (clerk marketing in store custom build shop prooduct) two days ago with magazine inserted and selector on fire. I immediately switched to safety, removed magazine and cleared chamber...then handed the rifle back. I was too annoyed to appreciate the product.

Prayers up for the deceased Daddy and his family.

The young man is living in jail everyday for the rest of his life probably. That is something that would eat on you .

I'm glad the charges were dismissed. I'm even more glad that it was at the request of the victim's family. Not one good thing would have come from putting that young man in prison.

Takes a big person to have that kind of mercy and forgiveness in your heart. Lord would be on your side to do that.

As I recall, employee was servicing a customer's weapon. Just a cleaning if I remember correctly. Failed to check if it was loaded and had an accidental discharge. The bullet struck someone in the parking lot. You know the rest of the story.
