Did you hand drill it or use a drill press? Unfortunately, I don't have a drill press, but might have to try to make a jig...very cool

I hand drilled it. the stainless was hard, I made one out of mild steel and it was easy to drill.

I just looked up the price for SKIN-IT-RITE... wow

Northern tool has the cable and clips, trick to boring stainless is nice and slow with a little cutting fluid if you any. Start with a small drill bit and open the hole up with a larger drill.

Never used this type but I like the looks of it, so I shall build one and try it out myself.

Does the material have to be stainless?

I made both stainless and mild steel. Just painted the mild steel

I made one out of a 3" galvanized fence post I had laying around. Works great. We already skinned out two fat doe with zero issues. Cost me about $5 to make. Ain't no way I'm gonna pay $150.
