Default Crane scales?

Any brand better than the others?

There are similar ones in various places online that are as little as $20, although they have a max of 660 which is more than I would need

I figure they all look like they are made in the same factory somewhere overseas

A wheatstone bridge is pretty much the same the world over. Various and sundried things some companies do for protection of the circuits and stuff like that, but the inner workings are pretty much the same.
In short, if it is protected well, it will most likely do the job just fine.
