Well yesterday was a good day. Didn’t send any arrows, but saw plenty of deer. 8 bucks and 7 does. 5 of the bucks were young, but 3 were good mature bucks; one of which was very respectable. He got within 67 yds of me and then just turned into the brush and was gone. Killed me. I watched him walk towards me for over 200yds and then nada. Lol. That’s hunting.

So far today 3 does. I was trying to save my other deer slot for a buck, but if one of these does gets any closer I’m gonna let one fly and then see if by some chance I can locate a nilgai. Good luck everyone. Last 2 days.

This may have been this way last time I don’t recall, but.... Could we just bone the Nilgai out in the field and pack it out that way? Then quarter the deer and take them out, vs dragging a whole animal to the skinning rack?

Keep seeing them and drop some pins so I know where to hunt on the 11/20 hunt[emoji41] jk. Getchu one! Seems like from previous Laguna history somebody shoots a real nice buck down there. My deer season has been a bunch of bad luck thus far so I’m actually more excited about chasing WT than nilgai

Congratulations.

I took one last year about that size. It was all alone for most of the day. I kept hoping momma would come for it. The biologist said the momma was most likely already taken by another hunter. Was that your experience with this Nilgai you took?
