Most of us are just getting in for the morning. Super slow for everybody. Archery popup hunters and the runners and gunners. Quiet birds mostly and when they did gobble they didnt respond well. Hope this evening with warmer temps and less wind puts them in the mood.

First trip to the Christoval lease grounds since the "Snow/Freeze of February". Ground cover and low browse seemed to be coming along. Most small trees and under lying brush seemed to be behind in the budding and leafing stages.

Deer seemed to still be hitting feed stations regularly, cleaning up protein and corn after most feedings. Gravity protein seemed to be lasting a little longer.

Turkeys treated us bad, humbled us some. Where very vocal while in trees, then silent after fly down. Did not see near the numbers of them while driving around either.

Sheds found, food cooked, all deer feed out, deer lease kool-aid drank and no busted water pipes. I would call it a success.

Hope all is well and all kill a giant Tom.

News out of our place is that it's looking like we will be able to purchase the property from the estate, so "the ranch" will stay in the family and we'll get to hunt for years to come. We've had two good seasons, but until just recently we didn't have a plan for the future.

Me and a good buddy got it done this weekend! Doubled up Saturday evening with the bows. They made us work for it but it was a blast! Really could use this rain they are forecasting this week but the deer are looking healthy. Good luck all!

Did a little work and a lot of turkey hunting. I was filming for my nephew and his buddy Ace. They got three birds so far, got them all on video, and are still at the lease for one more morning. We got a double yesterday morning, first time Iíve ever had two gobblers come in together and be able to take both of them. We put out 8200lbs of feed and got my nephews feed pen and feeder going.

Went to the lease this weekend. Deer are still hammering protein. Took out a few protein thieves, played dominoes and even had time to hunt for a blackbuck doe.

That’s a nice rain total right there. We got missed each time for the most part. Did get a little though, enough to wet the dirt for a bit. We’ll take it. Any amount is good. Lol

RWC made it to our place in Christoval this weekend to fill feeders. Sounds like a lot of the feeders were mad at us. Lol! At least corns only $10 a bag. Haha. I bet he had a few Coors lights to smooth it out. At least it sounds like the ranch was really green.

Yep, batted .133 on feeders! Feeder gods treated me bad.....But the one that ended up letting moisture in after 10 years of flawless operations with 500 lbs of corn in it almost did me in......on a positive note, browse was green and looking good and all protein was still feeding and in good shape.....

All are back feeding like new.......yep feeding that $20.00 per hundred corn.......

Hope all are having a good off season and God bless.

The browse looks great. My feeders are about empty now but the deer have really stopped hitting them very hard. Havenít had to fill cottonseed in over a month now and I was doing it every two weeks for a bit

Deer are still eating protein at a considerable rate (4k lbs every 7-10 days). We havenít seen them taper off this year as in previous years. We topped off more protein and corn this weekend.

It was more than a funnel cloud from the pic I saw.

We had about 2.5" in the rocky desert. Great start to summer

1.8 for us today.....That puts us at 4.2" since May 1. Mother nature should be doing her part for the feed bill this year..

Our deer continue to hammer the cottonseed. Just put out another 4,000 pounds on Saturday. We also saw 1 fawn this weekend that was moving around really well. Probably a couple weeks old?? Just a guess though.
