Went down to Houston for the last running of the NHRA Spring Nationals at the Houston Raceway track. Snapped a few photos along the way.

Go to Youtube, turn on any drag racing video, then as they take off, have the biggest guy in your office bunch you in the chest repeatedly for 3-4 seconds.

That should accurately depict the sound!

Nice shots, Tyler. A different photo venue is good.

I went Saturday, wished I could of stayed and gone again Sunday. But I did watch the finals on Sunday evening on tv. Man, what a show !!

Nothing like being on the starting line when a top fuel dragster or nitro funny car revs it up and takes off. Guts shaking, air crying, anticipation building, then it’s all over in a few short, earth shaking, seconds. Greatness.

We used to go to Green Valley Raceway north of Ft. Worth in what I consider to be the hey day of drag racing. “Night of Fire” Saturday nights featuring full nitro fire burn outs. Machines totally engulfed in flames for split second, then coming hurtling out. Amazing sights.

                        Nice pics!! Brings back memories.
