Default Why you don't want kids at weddings......

We own a venue and see out of control unsupervised kids all the time. This Saturday kids messed up grooms cake.....2 different kids, wife was able to somewhat salvage their cake after first one but 2nd one really ruined it.....not sure why people think its fine for kids to run wild, especially at wedding receptions. Groom had a special shiner beer cake made......

I am still not sure why people want kids. They keep saying I will want them eventually... the older I get the less I want them.

And you'll wind up an old man with little kids.

First put no children at wedding in the invitation. Second it’s on the parents.

This is what happens when the parents got time out instead of a belt, and now don't believe in giving their kids either one...

Kids got into a cake? Never heard of such a thing. And men have cakes now? Did he wear a dress too? . Must have ended in tears.

All jokes aside where we come from weddings are for families to come together especially the children. My friends and family would have gotten a kick out of that and probably some cute pictures.

Sad to see some don't get invited to folks special day. Groom's cake has been around for ages. It's usually on a separate table from the bride's cake.

At our wedding, my wife got me an Altoid grooms cake! It was pretty cool! There were plenty of kids running around but they all knew to behave cause half of the people at the wedding were wearing belts.

Agree that it is the parents fault for the most part. Kids are going to get into stuff, it's just what they do. We were all kids once and probably all got our fair share of whippings to learn right from wrong. I just don't think it happens enough anymore and parents see nothing wrong with letting little Hayden, Jaden and Braden run free like feral children at the store, restaurant or in this case, wedding.

It’s the parents fault and no one else, chit if you know your kids are bad find a babysitter to take care of them while you attend if it’s that important if not stay home. My kids know well not to leave the chair without permission at events like that I don’t like to be the parent that everyone talks about their kids being bad. Assshhh whoopings will teach them right from wrong I’m a firm believer in that!

We started teaching early to look with your eyes and not your fingers/hands. Especially anything that didn't belong to them. There were some mishaps and mistakes that were corrected with consequences.
As parents, we are responsible to teach our children. If we turn them loose in a situation where they're likely to fail or cause problems, that's on us.
Our kids are raising our grandkids now, and they are an absolute joy to have around.
We understand too that children have waaay too much energy that needs to go somewhere. That's why God made the outdoors. Open the door and go to it.

We were very fortunate in that we were always able to take our kids anywhere from the time they were babies. They were always well behaved. They didn’t know what a time out was either.

X2. That being said 95% of the kids we are around know how to behave and know the consequences if they don't.
No way in hell would they be tearing up a cake and no way we'd be laughing about it.

Have to admit, I never knew it was a thing until I got married almost 20 years ago. Fortunately mine was beer truck themed with a 6 pack included.

Still didn’t care, my time between dances was split between the keg and the margarita machine. She’s still married to me by the way, no idea how that happened.

If that is the worst thing that happens during the marriage life is good.

Drop two tears in a bucket. . . fudge it. :-) I would have laughed it off and ribbed by friends/wife's friends about not doping their kids up on Ritalin. Would have even taken a picture with the little mongrels and the cake.

Unfortunately high percentage these days fall into that category. What's even worse is the ones that do nothing but take the therapist method and do nothing but talk to them about and continue it even when it does nothing. A good whippin and privileges taken away enough to have merit go a long way.

My daughter in law (expecting) was telling me the other day that my son said he didn't want to spank their child for discipline. I ask him about it in front of her and he said he was really scared when I spanked him. I told him that was the point and you're welcome! He said I guess it did work but he still wasn't sure. He's having a girl and I think he's just nervous about it because it's a girl. My daughter in law said "no worries, I'll spank her little ***** if she needs it". God bless her!!!

I was spanked, more like beat, when I was a kid and I swore I'd never do that to my kids. And I never did. They turned out great and never wrecked a wedding. Same with my grandkids. They don't get spanked and they are great kids. Shouldn't hurt things you love.
