That is amazing and very scary at the same time. One of the ranches I help at; there was a line about 100 yards across and about 1/2 mile where the ground was cleaned up and the tress without a leaf. It was the weirdest thing I had seen at the ranch. There was not one leaf or broken twigs nor grass... clean bare ground. I think I still have pictures in one of the old phones.

F5 takes the slab and top foot of top soil. Nothing left in place. I’ve only seen one f5 and hope to never see another.

I drove thur Jarrell years ago after the ef5 went thru. nothing left in spots. It looked like a dozier had gone thru. Even dug up the highway in one spot.

F5 of Jarrell left slabs only with some debris & one of the most powerful recorded
Did pull some plumbing from slabs but I’ve never heard full slab extracted

Whats amazing is my dad was asked if he wanted to bid on a double wide in Jarrell after the tornado. We went to look at it and passed 4-5 empty slabs, half mile of missing asphalt and thousands of trees twisted off at about 10 feet. This trailer house was between 2 missing slab houses. It was parked almost against a live oak a few feet in diameter that was twisted off about a foot above the roofline and had you been in this trailer house you would have been fine except for flying glass. It was full of mud and dirt but otherwise not really tore up.

Crazy destructive. And yes, relatively small compared to some. What was it maybe 50 to 100 yards wide when it was ripping through those houses in the beginning. Hard to imagine some of those big ones that are a mile plus wide.

I do remember seeing where big sections of road had been sucked up during the Jarrell Tornado.. I cant remember if it was concrete sections or asphalt but it was GONE!!!! Scary impressive...

The Jarrell tornado peeled both asphalt and concrete slabs right off the ground. Have never seen anything like it.
