Did you build it yourself? You came up with what insulation to use and where? Have you had your unit serviced at all?

you dont need to be involved with an attorney. Just have your AC fixed by a good company

I never thought you could have too much insulation. Yes, I built it myself.

An air leak in the duct work can and will cause that.

For starters you don't want an air tight building, you have to have some fresh air. It would be like living in a cooler, not healthy. Anywhere there is a difference in temp like on a soda can you will have moisture, there has to be something to separate that. Cramming extra insulation too tight does no good. The air in fiberglass insulation is what does the trick, smash it down and you loose the effect.
Listen to Tom Tynan on 610 AM Houston on the radio and you will hear him talk about ac systems and problems people cause along with just about any home improvement problems. You can also call him and ask questions, he is very knowledgeable.
And the ac system could be the wrong one, take it step by step.
If you can not get the show in your area you can stream the show on the internet. Below is his website with some videos and general info. Good luck.
Tom Tynan hosts HomeShow Radio, every Saturday and Sunday on SportsRadio 610. Get home improvement tips or ask Tom your own home improvement questions.

You absolutely can have too much insulation. More is not always better.

If you came up with the design and built it, you don’t want to go the legal route.

That's sounding like the popular choice now.
                Thanks for the info.

You will feel like the cop on the stand in a trial, it's not all the good stuff you did, it's what you didn't do or what you did do and didn't put it on paper. It is a lonely feeling. Make sure you are good on your part before you go the legal route, don't want to waste money if it backfires. Wishing you the best.

Please know, I am not a litigious person.

Our AC took a poop on Friday, right before I got home from 4 HOT days at Cub Scout Twilight Camp.

The company that installed it, has a 24/7 service number. After a few calls, with no call backs, the lady told Tina "well, we need to sleep sometime".

She called a second company, that responded and got a tech out here about 10am Saturday. He quickly figured out that the blower motor was going out, BUT there was MOLD all over the inside, and some outside of our air handler. He also told us that Carrier was known for this, and this was not the correct unit to install in an attic. It was meant for a climate controlled inside application like a closet.

The tech from the company that installed it finally showed up about 6pm yesterday. I already knew about the mold (which will be tested tomorrow, but is blacker than a new tire) and he only said the blower motor was going out, but never mentioned the mold. I played the stupid card and asked him if all the black stuff in there was normal. He played it off and said yes, that's why we suggest a twice a year service plan, to clean that out.

I told him that MOLD inside an air handler can't possibly be normal. And then went on to tell him that Tina had stage 4 cancer in her lungs. I can not prove or disprove that black mold blowing through our house could cause that, but he surely couldn't disprove it.

We're waiting for a mold specialist to come out tomorrow, or Tuesday to test the whole house. Konnor is staying with a neighbor, while Tina and I robbed the portable AC from his playhouse to cool our bedroom and bathroom.

Based on my past experience with the owner of the company that installed this AC, I think it's going to get real ugly. When the health of my family is involved, I'm not using kid gloves.

What kind of attorney do I need to look for, and if you know, do you know a good one.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Probably a pretty darn GOOD one.
