    Jackson Hole, WY vacation questions?

My wife and I got invited (house and plane tickets paid for) to a trip to Jackson Hole Wyoming, middle of July, staying in Teton Village. Kind of spontaneous, kids will be in South Padre. We have a couple of fly fishing trips already booked but other than that, what are the must things to do? We are there from Thursday to Tuesday. Places to eat, things to see??

    Thanks in advance.

Best place to eat is GunBarrel restaurant. We always go in Sept. when the trees are turning and watch bull elk herding cows in the Teton National Reserve. From there you can be in Yellowstone within an hour or so.

Do the white water rafting and drive the 46 miles of whatever it is through the Tetons. Stay away from Yellowstone. Tetons are so much better than Yellowstone. Jenny lake is nice if you like hiking plenty of short hiking trails. Make reservations for your dinner meals.

I think my wife is booking a white water rafting trip for sure.

Lots of good stuff to do. I’ll be there July 4 - 10th, my uncle has a house in Moran and we go up fly fishing each summer.

Food wise there are some good places…

            Breakfast: The Bunnery (my favorite)

            Lunch/Dinner:
            Dornans (pizza)
            StillWest Brewery
            Snake River Brewery
Snake River Grill (pricey, but fantastic)
Signal Mountain (Grand Teton National Park, on Jackson Lake)

If you’re up for fly fishing there is a lot of public access to some pretty good rivers/streams that are wadeable. Can also hire a guide and do a float trip down the Snake River.

As mentioned Jenny lake is a nice place to hike

My buddy booked us two fly fishing trips with a guide already.

              Thanks for the input.

One of my dream vacations for sure.

Highly recommend Jenny Lake and Mormon Row. Share some pics when you get back! One of our favorite places.

You can find some nice elk roaming around the area in July. I’ve been 5 times in the past 15 years and we never make plans other than where to stay. We just go.

I like pulling up a saddle at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. Grand Teton National Park is Great and so is YSNP. Not sure if you’ve ever been there before , but I would second Mormon Row, Oxbow Bend has some fantastic photo opportunities as well as Jenny Lake. Need to check out the geyser basin and if you can make it , Lamar Valley. National Elk Refuge

It’s an amazing place. Looking forward to see how your fishing trip goes. I was up there this winter and plan to go back next summer for fishing and rafting.
