Does anyone simply spray paint an arrow crest on their arrows?

What is your purpose for having a cresting? I understand the various purposes but what is your cresting purpose?

I say do it if it strikes your fancy. Im a noob and had to look up the definition.

I've read of people doing this. I'm going all wood on my next arrows. I'll be using alcohol based stain and sharpie pens for cresting.

I always brushed the paint or stain on, but id be interested to see if you find a spray can quicker or less messy. My struggle was at the tape line. Stain would sometimes bleed under the tape, and paint would cause a raised ridge that would chip of with the paint. They still came out decent, but before i could improve my method i decided i preferred a slightly more toned down primitve look.

I wouldnt mind seeing some pics of how it turns out.
