Different seedhead, but thanks for looking.
The closest thing that I could come up with by internet pictures, is Rhodes grass, but I am not convinced.

Red arrow is “windmill grass”. Different than “Hooded windmill grass”

Lot of plains bristle grass in the back. Great quail grass there

Agree. Although photos can be misleading. Hooded windmill will have the very distinctive base of the stems (where they come out of the ground) look flattened as if pressed with an iron. Not revealed in photos. Otherwise, all of those are Windmill Grass. Not a "great" grass, but Bristle Grass is awesome for quail nests, good forage for cattle, and great seeds for birds.

                            Chloris ciliata - fringed chloris.

The genus Chloris gets a bit fuzzy as C. cucullata (hooded windmillgrass), C. verticillata (windmillgrass), C. subdolichostachya (shortspike windmillgrass), and C. andropogonoides (slimspike windmillgrass) often hybridize with each other.

                              Oh, wow. Thanks
The generic term windmill grass did not suit me, and I was having a heck of a time trying to put my finger on one specific species.
