Default Constitutional Carry Day

Who is sporting a piece on their side where they haven't carried before?

No need for me, YET.

Well I'm headed out with my .44 on my hip for the first time. Got a busy day ahead, after I drop the Kids off at school and check my post office box I'll be at the court house to get my trailer registered by them it will be Beer and burger time at the Buffalo grill. When I get done there I will be visiting the race track then back to pick up the kids at school and take them to the waterpark.

I mean if you want to be shot first in an active shooter situation by all means strap it to your hip in plain sight.

At least that's my humble opinion. I'll still carry concealed, like normal.

Until vest and sportcoat weather, then it'll go on my hip, still concealed.

Well maybe you should do a "blog" on all the thousands of cases where this has actually happened??

I agree with you, carrying open is stupid in most cases.

But, constitutional carry doesn't mean it has to be open, one can still carry it concealed as well.

So, back to my OP, how many are carrying today when they haven't carried before.

I personaly don't thinks its stupid to open carry, but that's just me. Usually when a thug robbs a store or whatever....they don't do any kind of "recon" to weight threats, they just jump in and intimidate. I don't carry open, but I really don't have a good reason not to, other than I've been concealing for so long. But hey....Happy Texas constitutional carry day!!!!

The problem is a robber generally doesn't do recon. They run in the door pistol drawn an perhaps see you with a gun on your hip. Now you are an armed threat to them.

If they did recon and looked through a window and saw you with a gun they would more than likely just leave.

Wait…you had to have a license before to carry a pistol in plain sight? I’ve been wearing this rusty 1911 in my trusty nylon holster with a broken snap in my sweatpants and flip flops on the Walmart mobility scooter for years and nobody’s said anything to me?

Sorry I’m responding so late. Been a heck of a morning. Went to get coffee and a gang banger felon in an F15 started some crap. After barely escaping the shootout with my life, the responding officers said there is nothing they could do. He has the constitutional right now.

Then I went to lunch and wouldn’t you know it? ISIS was having a meeting in Whataburger. All carrying PKMs. The officers in there eating just looked at me and shrugged. Then the shooting started. I took one to the shoulder but it’s just a flesh wound thankfully.

As I was driving home I witnessed a drunk Redneck dual wielding Desert Eagles firing them into the air.

Be careful out there guys. It’s a war zone.

To be fair, I think we have all been carrying without the permission of the ATF. The state of Texas on the other hand…

If anyone wants some entertainment and has the NextDoor app, the liberal house wives are up in arms today about this. They are certain there will be high noon duels, road rage massacres and bodies in the streets.

Edit: A little poodle looking thing wandered up to my garage today when I was taking out the recycling, took a picture and put him on there and saw the posts. Just figured I needed to splain myself. Constitutional Carry On....

Michael Berry had the lawyer on his show today from Texas Law shield. It was an great talk amd he shed light on some benefits to still getting and ltc. Still some areas federal law can get you but wouldn’t matter if you had an ltc. Also benefit of crossing state lines legally carrying etc.

The CC hasn't changed for me. I use the Castle law with my gun in the truck and I don't go places where I should CC. But, it is nice to know I can when I want to.

Not trying to be a SA but how does one know what places do / don’t need CC?
Would assume your referring to public places ...

You are correct. I have no need to go to the 3rd ward for example. Right now, I don't know where I'd carry.

Where I work, the only way to carry is with a CHL. Must be concealed at all times.

I'm at work now and have 3 guns on my desk and 2 leaning against the wall behind me.

When I go into the office, I can't carry because its a government facility. Can't even have it in the parking lot.
