One might say Texas as a whole has been "blessed".

Our lease in Kimble county has only gotten like 4-5" of rain since the beginning of the year. Has missed out on all of the big rains every time.

        It's always feast or famine.

Same thoughts, no complaints. Rain and cooler temps in July in North TX are things to enjoy, doesn’t happen all that much.

The only year I've seen like this one was either 65,66, or 67 can't remember exactly.
I lived in Mesquite and we had about 6 waves of baby frogs that swarmed the yard about 2 to 3 weeks apart.
One batch of tadpoles would mature and the cycle started over. At one time we had catfish in the ditches.
My dad and I would catch a coffee can of them and go catfishing. Had lots of catfish dinners that year.

                  True.
One thing I have learned about south texas is the next drought is always just around the corner.

Old ranchers used to say when California is burning the rains return to Texas.

                    It’s a natural cycle.

We used to hunt a ranch in Roosevelt. The owner would say (every time you saw him) “this is the first day of the next drought”. Lol! I would gladly offer up some of our rain in the Dayton area to any of you that need it!

I once heard the Texas climate described as one long drought broken up by periodic flooding.

And we got another 1.1" yesterday and had about a 30-minute downpour earlier today but haven't checked the rain gauge yet.

I know I’m not supposed to cuss the rain, and I won’t……. but I can’t even keep up with my yard, much less my pasture!
