Default which Carry gun and why? List please

For fun list the carry guns you have had in order if possible, why you moved from them and what you ended up with and why. Doesn't have to be an all inclusive list, maybe you cant even remember all of them haha. Here is mine:

1 LCP too pipsqueaky and the mags kept falling out with pocket carry

2 j frame not enough bullets (favorite gun to carry though)

3 Xd sub compact 40, loved the gun but wanted a little more capacity 9+1 or 12+1

4 Xd subcompact 9, liked it real well and liked the capacity, but for what i ask for in a pistol the 9 is a little lacking for me, please don't hit me with FBI, all the same, blah, blah :-)

5 XDM 3.8 compact 40 This is where i am now, 11+1 with the option for 16+1 is enough bullets IMO, i prefer the 40, and while not too big, very easy shooting.

I don’t own any guns. Therefore don’t carry. But if I did I probably would’ve tried the XD 9 3.3 before realizing I didn’t care for the lower capacity. Probably would’ve moved to a G19 next and then stayed there because, why carry anything else. ?

If you feel like you need more than 5 or 6 rounds from a carry gun for your personal protection you are are probably frequenting the wrong kinda places or running with the wrong crowd. I have tried lots of carry guns but always come back to a Ruger SP101 in 357 easy to conceal and shoots where I point it.

Carried a full size XD40 for a while. Too dang heavy
Now carry M&P Shield 9MM. Much more comfortable.
I do not like carrying double stack guns. Too thick and too heavy.

1. S&W Shield .40. Carried easy but wanted more capacity.
2. XD Service .40. Too heavy, and the holsters I had were not comfortable.
3. Traded #2 for #1
4. Glock 19. I don’t see this going anywhere.

5. Kel tec p3at—still have this one as a BUG/ankle rig.

1. Sig P938 but too big for my pocket and after a while realized that for a owb holster gun I could carry a much larger gun just as comfortably. Sold it
2. S&W J frame, great pocket gun, still carry it and even sometimes in an owb.
3. S&W M&P9c, good size either owb or iwb.
4 Sig P320C 45acp, 9+1 comfortable owb carry.
5. Sig P227C 45acp, 10+1 comfortable owb carry.
6. My BBQ gun, Colt Officers 45Acp owb.

You know, if I still had any guns.

G42.....

More likely to care it anytime all the time rather then changing to a larger frame depending on attire. Additional two rounds added with grip extension without changing in overall size also.

1. kimber pro carry. Love this gun and will never get rid of it. Super accurate and anyone can shoot it. I'm just not a big guy and it's a pretty large frame gun with a full 1911 grip. Just not comfortable to carry when in tight places or getting in and out of vehicles often.

2 moved to a P938 and that thing is pretty sweet and I'm accurate with it. I'm a 1911 fan so it looks similar to them but in a much smaller package. It fits me well so that what I'll stick with for a while

It depends .. 380 lcp when I'm wearing basketball shorts.
Glock 19 any other time.. I have a xds 45 it's real easy to hide decent to shoot at 15 ft but I guess I frequent bad areas because I like the 17 +1 of my g 19.

3. Sig 938 - small and easy to conceal
4. Kahr P9 - small, light and easy to conceal

1. Custom built Commander size 1911 in 45 ACP. Haven't carried it much because it turned out so nice it's more of a BBQ gun.
2. Full size Springfield Range Officer 1911 in 45 ACP. Hard for me to conceal, especially in warm weather clothing.

Haven't figured out the ideal carry gun for me yet. May do another Commander 1911 but will be all business/no frills...might try an aluminum frame to reduce weight. I'm partial to 1911 because I compete with them and prefer to stick with familiar grip, trigger, etc.

In order of use, I carry daily. All have been in service for multiple years. Still have em and use em.
1. Beretta Nano (clean, no fuss carry gun, love it)
2. S&W 638 (still use, wanted more capacity)
3. Ruger LCR (too small for more than a pocket stand-off gat)
4. G-19 (love em all but too big for 24/7 carry)
5. Walter PPK (if this was made in 9mm I wouldn't carry anything else)

I compete with 1911ís, 2011ís, and glocks, and the first two are at the bottom of the list of guns I want to carry. Get a plastic compact/mid frame and enjoy larger capacity and lighter gun, in a smaller package.

Sig 232 Don't trust it. Has a tendency to stovepipe so it VERY rarely gets carried.

If it's not convenient and comfortable to carry, it will not be carried often.
Better to have a weapon that holds 5 to 7 rounds than no weapon at all
(for those that feel they need to carry a larger weapon for more capacity).
Glock 43 or a similar small-thin type weapon is ideal for all day, every day carry in my humble opinion.

Man, I went through some dang guns trying to find one that would work. The wisdom I learned is that some of the guns I didnít like were because I didnít have the right type of holster. Once I tried OWB I found that a larger more comfortable gun could be carried more comfortably and easier while still being concealed as well as a smaller gun in the pocket or IWB.

Taurus 617 7-shot ported 357, cuz I thought more would be better. Too fat, too heavy, recoil and report would stun you. Oh yeah, and it would lock up. What a POS.

Taurus 445Ti 44sp. Didnít learn my lesson with the first one. Lighter but still too fat. Oh yeah, would lock up. What a POS

Decided to try an semi auto. Kahr PM40. Grip too small to handle recoil. Just wasnít fun to shoot. Had to go back to Kahr 3x before it was reliable.

Glock 30SF. Loved that gun but traded it off eventually. Not really great for carry as it was too big and heavy but I did carry it some. Would buy another one.

Ruger LCP (twice). About as concealable as youíre gonna get. Actually decent to shoot once you replace the guide rod spring with a heavier one. Had it for pocket carry but it was too dang small to get a good consistent grip.

S&W 442. Finally! Easy to carry, packs a punch....not fun to shoot. Simple enough to grip consistently that I can pocket carry. A tad low on capacity but it would get carried consistently which is more important. Still have it. Still carry it, pocket or OWB

S&W Shield. Only bought it because Palmetto had them on sale for like $200 or something. Itís perfect. Easier to carry and to shoot than the 442, and has higher capacity. Has replaced the 442 for the most part.

Glock 19. Perfect for OWB carry. Perfect truck gun.

Typically my Kimber Micro 380 but I'm not a fan of the beavertail on it. I also carry my XDE 9mm, its SA/DA with a decocker and thumb safety. I wish I could find something the size of the Micro 380 that had the same features the XDE has.
