Default Selling Glock debate

I'm considering selling my glock 17 gen 3 to fund a new Henry 30-30. I really like the pistol, however I shoot it less than once a year. It just sits up on the shelf as a "just in case", but I have other guns to serve this purpose if necessary.

The question: have you sold your glock?

If so, why? Did you regret it?

First world problems.

I have a glock 20 10mm that I have only shot 2 times, I don’t like it at all. I will probably sell it pretty soon

You can always buy another glock later down the line if you want. Common and cheap. Iíd keep any spare magazines you have and sell the gun if you donít use it.

I sold my glock 23 to a buddy of mine at work a few years ago. After a few months I found myself wishing I still had it even though I have plenty of other pistols to shoot...so ended up finding a good deal on 2cool and replaced it. Haven't considered selling ever since.

I've sold all of my Glocks, I've replaced them with a S&W 629 and a couple of CZ's. I will never go back to a Glock. Just my personal preference but I do not like them, they are good pistols I just prefer a single/double action.

I’ve probably owned 50 Glocks in the last 25 years, and at one point, I had 19 in my possession. I’m currently down to 7, so yes, I’ve sold a Glock or two.

OP, Sell the Glock. G17’s are very easy to come by if you end up regretting it later.

Iíve only shot my G20 a few times and considered selling mine too, but itís the most versatile handgun I have. I have a 40 S&W barrel for it and a complete G21 upper, so I can shoot 10mm, 40, and 45 acp.

Why would you ever sell a gun...

If you want to fund another gun, don't go out to eat for a month or two

Glocks, very common . Sell it.
Now if you were offing a Colt Snake gun...then you would have a dilemma.

Box stock pistol can be bought again . Brand withstanding , Most times thought you are not going come out of top money wise .

I would never sell my Zev ,.. sold many a custom 1911, such as STI Les, etc .

Your call if you can live with the money lost and do not shoot it well then there is your answer .

That wouldn't work for me, we only go out maybe once a month, sometimes not even that often. It would take me years to save enough that way haha.

I don't know why people get so attached to guns. It's just a gun. If you don't shoot it, or don't like it, sell it and buy what you will shoot and and like. Just don't be one of those guys who thinks their used gun is worth the same as a new one .

Most of the time used guns are worth almost as much as new ones.. other than putting 3000k rounds down the barrel or scratching up the stock they don't lose value.. and people wanting them for half the price of a new one is exactly why I don't bother selling ..

I actually agree. I get attached pretty easy and I don't know why, nor like that I do.

So right here is another reason , You are selling a USED gun not new , so why would anyone save a few bucks to buy used ?? IF we are talking stock not modded .

If its used you are going to loose 25% or more on avg .

But a guy with a dime a dozen gun no matter what brand thinks his gun is special and should be what new is or like 20 dollars less BWHAHAHAHA

Go on gun broker and look up new and used gives you a basic idea of what is a fair price across the US . Take out the silly how prices and low priced and there you go its sure not a new price that is a fact

I am in the same boat as you. However resale isn't good, so keeping it. It's my first pistol, and has sentimental value. Also, I have only sold one gun, and regretted it.

On one hand if itís a stock Glock 17, it is easily replaced.

I have sold many and eventually replaced all of them.

Whoever posted that guns donít lose value when used is wrong.

Go buy a brand new Glock for $500 and see what it sells for 6 months later.

If itís a custom or something rare maybe so, but run of the mill every day guns, not even.

Yup. Common firearms are like cars. The moment you buy them you are not recovering anywhere close to what you paid. Of course if you looked at the classifieds here you would get a different idea.

Have you tried a 20sf frame on one of the newer genís with replaceable backstraps? I really wanted to like the 20 but it didnít fit me right. Then when the SF came out it was way better. I ultimately sold it when the 40 came out with the 6Ē barrel and I AINT NEVER selling that thing!

Itís a gen 4 with replaceable back straps so Iím not sure if thatís the same thing youíre talking about. This is my first glock and even without the back straps it has a fatter feeling grip than other handguns I own and it may be a matter of just getting used to it. It is a great shooting gun though.

Yeah, well 99.9% of guys out there couldnít tell if a rifle had been fired 3 times or 3,000. Far more guns are ruined from retards with a cleaning rod than being shot out

Yep, sell that sucker….glocks are a POS, don't shoot, fail all the time and the finish wears off to a gray, scuffled look...or is that one of those FDE finishes?

Sell 'em then you won't ever have the problem of trying to decide on which gun to shoot out of the safe?

With all that in mind just pm me and I'll try to find it a new home....ME & The Son's! AND, just my opinion and observation...some say they are hard to re-sell...yep, that's true when priced as NEW...used is used so do your research..good luck seriously..very functional and reliable!!

I had in order 34,22,23,17l,35,43. Sold them all purchased a STI 2011 eagle .45, STI duty One 9mm and a SW 627 revolver. Best trade i have ever made. I am so not a black gun fan its not funny. Black gun tactical group just really eeks me in my older years. Kinda sad to see no pretty guns at the range. BTW be very warier of the older gun with a snub nose 38. More than likely he can out shoot everyone.
