New year new me!!! Lots of changes boys and girls! I don't have a place in TX to hunt this year but I scored some decent dirt in SE Oklahoma. Got divorced, got engaged, living in Fort Worth, and I've never been happier!

I missed opening day because my sister from The Woodlands is in FTW but chance so we're getting ready for dinner. I've got everything packed and ready to roll out NO LATER than 3:30am. For this hunt I will only have my recurve with me so be prepared for multiple misses and a lot of disappointment. None of our big deer from last yea have shown yet but they'll be around. Stay with me, let's have a great year!!! Good to be back boys and girls!

Headed out shortly for dinner with my fiancé and my sister. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated. Hope everyone has a phenomenal year!

47° here and about 20min from the gate. Just got off the phone with Will
and Brad who are already there. I'm hunting a blind called "Hector's Hollow" and it's had plenty of does in the mornings and a pretty decent 8pt with the occasional pig. With any luck one of them will spook at the shot and run into my arrow!

Pretty little spot in here. I'm on top of a bluff ridge that has a big pasture to the east. Straight north of me about 200yds is a big hollow that falls off into the abyss. There's a couple of janky horned deer...

Deer 1 Rojo 0... She took forever and finally got in the feed pen. There's a little tree between me and her somI kind of have a weird angle. As I come to draw my broadhead hangs the window and pulls the arrow off of the sting. She didn't like the way that sounded...

So anyways, there's a couple of funky horned bucks and one pretty nice 8pt that's been regular. Several does, lots of pigs... I've just gotta get one to come in and let me get drawn.

I haven't even gotten settled in and a large sounder of pigs just got my wind. It's swirling pretty bad here. As I'm typing a big Hampshire cut the same tracks as the group did. I'll update when things settle down!

Now that that has chilled out... this is a cool little pinch where 3 drains come off of a pasted and end in this fence corner. Thick hardwoods and a mostly dry creek best just to the west. There's a nice little p probably in the mid to upper 120's that was here last night. If he shows in the day time I'm gonna make it hot on him! Cows could come into play on this stand. Wind is swirling a little bit it sure is a beautiful spot!

Deer 2, Red 0... 4 does came in on a string. Waited for the big gray faced one to get right and I just shanked it... As they were trying to decide what they wanted to do a small 8 came in and left with them. Still exciting stuff.
