Opening Weekend Menu

What are y'all planning on cooking this weekend? We wont get there until late Friday night so it will be fast food on the trip to camp. Saturday night we always do fried deer steak, french fries, and cream gravy. It just seems right to kick off the season with deer meat.

Breakfast tacos of some sort after the first morning hunt. We usually keep it simple for lunch and just have sammiches.

Same meals I have ate the last 10 weekends in a row at camp lol. Half pound hamburger patty no bun with 4 bacon wrapped jalapenos, green beans or steamed broccoli with homemade ranch dip and a couple deviled eggs. Keto makes it easy to eat at camp lol. I intermittent fast so breakfast is lunch. I will have a couple fried eggs and a couple slices of bacon

One guy is bringing a pork roast and I'm taking a pot of beans, others will bring something I'm sure. Of course we will make a trip into town for some Coopers.

We’ll eat steaks, twice baked potatoes and a salad for dinner. Probably some bacon wrapped asparagus for an appetizer too. We just snack for lunch. Breakfast is generally scrambled eggs, hash browns bacon and biscuits.

Ribeye potato Friday night. Breakfast tacos for brunch, fish fry Saturday night after we catch some fish Saturday morning after the hunt

Prime filets on Friday night and smoked beef back ribs on Saturday night. If one of boys sticks a doe Saturday morning we may fry some tenderloin to go along with some biscuits and cream gravy Saturday for brunch.

I won't be able to get there until around noon Saturday, so lunch will be whatever I pick up on the way (hopefully, a couple of gut grenades from Allsup's), dinner will be Spaghettios and Libby's BBQ Vienna Sausages straight from the can, washed down with a Modelo Mango & Chile Chelada, breakfast will be a pack of 2 for a dollar Peanut Butter Crackers and a Diet Coke.

We’re cooking fajitas on Saturday night. We’ll probably just do sandwiches for lunch

Steaks one night, fajitas the next. Heavy breakfast spread both mornings and sandwhiches in between for those man enough to eat again.

Haven't had time to pre cook any BBQ this week (or month for that matter) so we are firing up the mesquite grill 2 of the 3 nights and maybe 4.. Ribeyes and cowboy taters one night, fried speckled trout with all the fixings another... and then a grill full of Bownanza chicken wings the next. Breakfast is gonna be breakfast tacos all three mornings... Eggs, bacon or sausage depending on the morning....diced potatoes, sharp shredded cheddar, japs, salsa/pico etc etc....


Heard rumors of Humper's wife sending her incredible infamous banana pudding and him doing his dutch oven cobbler another. I can hurt myself with the BP...

Our place is about 40 miles from the nearest restaurant, so we've built in a tradition of eating steaks one night of the weekend. Cheaper than going to town for dinner.

The rest of the time it's sandwiches, hot dogs, cereal, granola bars, etc.
