    Knox County Whitetail

Was lucky enough to pick up a last second lease in Knox county last week. Was able to get out and set up a spot yesterday. Was wondering what caliber of deer were in the area. Thanks!

Hunted 13 miles west of Benjamin for 4-5 years. Had deer in the 150-160 class about every year. Low deer densities and tough bow hunting, but I was used to that so didn’t bother me too much.

Brought my daughter out cause she has been begging for me to take her all summer. She made it all of about an hour then said “I want to go home”. So I had momma meet me halfway and pick her up. On the way to meet her mom she said “I can’t wait to go again next time.” Just trying to ease her into it at her own pace. Making memories!

Let the young lady run the schedule. make it fun.

Knox County has some big deer and bigger pigs. You never know what you might see. You'll probably see and hear more sandhill cranes than you ever thought existed. If you have wheat fields, or travel routes to and from, hunt them.

Like Dave said, check out the Middle of North Texas thread. Lot's of info and insight. Good luck. Enjoy the time w/ your daughter. It goes by fast.
