A customer of mine mentioned having a boat that his dad bought new, used 1 time, and passed away. He said it's been in his shop for 10 years and he wanted to sell it. I ran over there to see what it was and ended up buying it. It still had the original tank of gas in it and it was some kind of nasty. I brought it home and cleaned the tank and flushed everything out. The EFI pump was stuck so I replaced it. Put some fresh gas in it and this thing purrs like a kitten. I've never had a 4 stroke before and it's impressive how smooth and quiet it is. It's a 2006 model G3 with a 2006 model Yamaha 4 stroke EFI outboard. I'm not really a bass fisherman but I wanted it to tinker with. Turns out it didn't need much tinkering other than the fuel pump and flushing that old gas out. I'll probably try to trade it for a panfish model boat or sell it.
