No spoilers people! I'm looking forward to this one but I'll wait a couple weeks for the theaters to calm down.

If you're worried about spoilers, don't wait a couple weeks.

Movie was great.

Just got back from the show. For a couple of hours I got to be 9 again. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

It was fantastic. Will have to see it multiple times. There were no stupid characters for comic relief like Jar Jar.. Some snark from the robot but it fit. Fantastic movie.

Saw it last night with my wife and kids. There is a scene where one guy sets up to take a "sniper" shot...when he does, look closely at the rifle (blaster). It sure looks like an AR lower receiver.

Coming from the prop nerd, I have read all about the weapons props in the movie and have actually constructed replica movie props from my workshop.

Jyn's pistol was made from a luger, Cassian's pistol is made from an AR lower and upper and the rebel rifles (including the rifle you're talking about) were ARs as well, all the troopers blasters (the E-11) were made from the original stormtrooper blaster (which was a British sterling sub-machine gun), also, several stormtroopers and death troopers are sporting long guns, one of them (the DLT-19 in Star Wars talk) is made from the MG-34 German machine gun and the other (the T-21 light cannon) is made from a Lewis machine gun minus the rotary magazine. Loved that they kept a lot of original concepts with this movie. I also loved how they made the rebelion more "realistic."

He's been in a lot of stuff. Just now getting famous-ish.
He's a distant cousin. The branches of our family tree diverge in the 1830's.
I still drop his name every chance I get.

Yep, I went because my wife likes Star Wars yesterday. First 20 mins slow to develop. I had no idea what was going on, didn't recognize any of the characters, or even know where in the series the movie took place. Last twenty mins was ok, because Darth Vader was cool. Couldn't tell you what happened in between because it was a $12 nap.

I saw it yesterday and it is greatness. It details exactly the events that unfold right up to the beginning of A New Hope (Episode IV).

I really enjoyed the "rebellion" feel of this movie. In Episodes IV through VI we know there is a rebellion but the story really only follows Skywalker and his merry band of rebels; which is fine and a great story in and of itself. But Rogue One really puts a face to the rebellion, the trials and tribulations of what the rebellion means and what the rebels will do for their cause.

I really liked the multiple fight scenes on many fronts throughout the movie, not just one big battle at the end like the others.

To me it really brought home that there is a rebellion going on and real people are fighting, wining, loosing, suffering and dying.

There are a million easter eggs as well!

Great movie if you are a fan, if not, it does start a little slow. The slow start is attributed to the fact that we have to build a background for a whole new cast of characters; but they did a great job in that respect.

Agreed. IMO it's the best Star Wars movie yet, as difficult as it is for me to admit that

I grew up watching Star Wars (watched Empire Strikes Back on top of my roof when we lived near the drive in). It was a fun movie with more humor/one liners in it than the other movies, but I felt that it fit since it was a side story. Would see it again!

Thought it was great! I am so thankful that George Lucas let go of the franchise. He was the genius who brought us the entire story line and world of Star Wars, but it was time for someone else to take it over. Lucas just got to corny and CGI dependent. The last two have been great! It's been good to have real characters walking around in a "real world."
