    New 22-250 Ideas

Looking for a new 22-250 truck bolt gun. Don’t want heavy bbl but not against some type of medium weight. Want adjustable trigger or something that I can drop a trigger in. Also threaded is a plus for future use but not a must. Would like to stay in the $1000 range or under. I have a zeiss conquest to put on it.

    Let’s hear some recommendations. Thanks

I have a tikka t3 cut at 18” and threaded. I upgraded the trigger spring. Heck of a nice truck gun for the money.

There is a 788 in the classifieds. I hav e one and what you are wanting to do is exactly what I used mine for. You will need to drop a Timminy trigger into it for it to be adjustable. I jeweled mine and it shoot great, but you have to watch your trigger control.

Do you have an action that you could use as a donor for a rebarrel?

            Ruger American Predator in 22-250
Has everything you want for about $400 and they are shooters.

Bergara Ridge comes with a 9 twist barrel, and is built on a 700 footprint. That 9 twist would be ideal for handloaders, as it’ll give you heavier options than most 12-14 twists 250s that are out there. I’d hand load some 75s, and really put that rifle to work.

Browning Xbolt is 1:9 twist. Might be another option to consider.

Ended up getting the bergara ridge.

You guys been satisfied with their stock triggers adjusted down?

I have the bergara HMR in 22-250 and I didn’t see a need to adjust trigger. Crisp and light in my opinion. Shoots great too. I’m shooting federal 60gr partition.

They’re pretty decent for a factory trigger. Depending on your budget I’d toss a TriggerTech Primary on there though.
