    Pronghorn antelope

How about a thread for all the speed goat hunters.
We get to go over for a quick 2 day hunt on 21st this month. Our area is about 1 1/2 hours West.
Areas are opening up here, rifle, and I know some nice archery bucks have been taken.
Best of luck in NM , Arizona and Colorado too. They grow some big ones down there.
Texas panhandle was one of my most fun hunts several years back. took a so so goat but the area was great and folks were super nice.

Post up your pics when you get one.

Heading to Dalhart at the end of the month, got drawn for Rita Blanca. Only took 19 years of applying.

With any luck I'll be able to post a pic of my buck on or after Oct. 1.

      Good luck to you sir!

New Mexico knows how to grow big goats, they don’t let you shoot many of them !

Congrats and good luck to all who have tags for my favorite animal to bowhunt !

          Congrats 220swift !!
That moo cow decoy look like a better way than crawling forever.

I would like to offer a photo tip to others, not you 220.
When you take the pic with your buck make sure it is sky lined and not in front of your body. We want to see the horns.

Good start to the thread, thanks 220swift.

I was alone, so getting better photos was tough. The moo cow decoy is awesome. I've done the 1000 yard crawl. Never again. It works amazingly well.

I was Red Deer hunting this weekend in South Texas. Worked like a charm down there too.

Not recent, but around 2004. Killed him within sight of the Border Patrol checkpoint at Marfa. Scored 78-2/8. They were rutting hard that day. Found him bedded down with a doe. He stood up and the 7 SAUM and 140 grain x bullet did the rest.

                Pronghorn antelope

Had my first speedgoat hunt last year in WY, had a blast! Funnest hunting I have ever had and I plan to do more. Spent 5 days on public land stalking decent bucks but ended up not working out.I downed this doe from 330 yards with my .270. 1.5 miles in a big public piece. Can’t wait for my next antelope hunt! I’m addicted!!!

PP are needed for Wyoming, buy one now.
Plan for a few years out up here for a better hunt but it can be done in low PP areas, just not much public access.
Other states have easier paths to antelope hunting but may be costlier. It is very DIY in Wyoming and other public land states though.
They are fun to hunt and most years it is looking over many animals to find the right one.
Honestly I enjoy hunting them more than almost any other game we have up here.

I've been trying to get a pronghorn tag in TX for 10 yrs and Wyoming for 3. No luck yet. Prob never get drawn. I'm going to have to pay for one shortly.

                              Nice goat!

I always liked seeing the pronghorn and Auodad in Borden county when I worked in Snyder.
