2019/20 Duck Season - Official Thread

Roasting a couple of geese for a Friday evening meal.

We open back up next Wednesday. Expecting some good hunts. Have quite a few flying around. Shut a gate at a place the other day and it’s backing a little water up in a slough. There were quite a few coming in there this morning so I reckon we’ll hug a tree in there on Wednesday morning.

North zone opens back up tomorrow. Found some ducks today but will have to wait to chase them on sunday and monday. Looks to be light to no wind in the morning as is.

I quit hunting North zone years ago, but I cant help but try to knock down a few woodies when it's open and south isnt.

Had a great morning for the 2nd season opener yesterday. Had crazy amounts of bird pouring in. A lot came in about 5 minutes too early, just before shooting light. It was my pup's first duck hunt, but she did great.

I should have added they're a puddle duck/dabbler like mallards. They eat good, as ducks go.
