Everywhere here. About all out of the trees best I can see. It's been raining Acorns for the last three weeks with little interest in corn.

Shot a buck last weekend in Wise county and the action had been very slow the last 2 weeks. Opened him up and he had 60+ undigested acorns in his gut. They are not moving and just eating them all they want.

If it's red apple you've ruined your season. They only come to green apple corn.

We had NOTHING at the feeders in Eastland Co. not even pigs. The guys I've talked to and are getting some success have made ground blinds and hunted the trails. We need a four day hard freeze to sour up the acorns, but I don't see that coming anytime soon.

I've thought about trying some rattling to bring them out since they're not coming to corn. Is it getting too late in the season for rattling in the hill country?

We are covered up with acorns on our place in Brown County. 2 weeks ago I had bucks walk right past corn on the ground with no interest at all. Going back next week end but hearing it is still pretty much the same right now.

Not at all, once the does are out of season the bucks will still be on the prowl. I had a 6 year old buck 100 yards from me a couple of weeks ago that wouldn't leave the lying down doe for horns or grunt, never even looked my way.

Might work if your cloths are cotton but if you are wearing you normal polyester pants they will just melt and you want even keep the paper lit.

Dad collected me some burr oak acorns and I am going to throw them out under the feeder next weekend. If they want acorns I'm going to give them the biggest acorns around. LOL

I have 30 oaks in my front yard so a lot of acorns have been falling in the bed of my truck since late Sept. I sweep them out of the bed into my feeder pen every time I go to the lease. Im covered up in 1.5 yr old bucks. Nothing shootable yet but I see a lot.

I'm not sure it's because of the acorns but they wipe out both the corn and acorns.
