Default My truck is being kidnapped in a service bay

Over a month in service on a recall, I regret ever thinking about getting it fixed
Any idea how to contact a elevated service manager, I canít even get the service manager or service writer on the phone,
Any clue how to expedite this?

You need to visit the dealership, flip a desk over and get attention. 1 month, that is unacceptable. But seriously, pay the dealership a visit.

Yuuup. I have a friend with a Maserati (and it does not do 185 now) that has been sidelined for seemingly a year due to lack of components.

Hmmm.....seems like redundancy might be a good step for autos of the future.

Is this vehicle paid for or still making payments?

If making payments, seems like they should let some, if not all, of that payment be written off.

Find the general manager/ head honchos name of the dealership. Go there and speak to him. I wouldnít bother being told to make an appointment.

If you canít find his name, post or PM me the dealership name and address. Iím pretty good at tracking down peopleís names.

I do not understand...can they not give it back for you to use until the recalled part arrives?

Not getting an answer or anything is BS..... but I will say, due to the world we live in now, it could’ve months before the part arrives. It’s not the dealers fault.... the communication is. If you don’t mind the drive, I can hook you up with guaranteed the best salesman in the industry. He would probably take the trade while it’s even in the shop. Just hands down an honest good guy that will shoot straight and won’t cut corners. Good luck with what’s going on...

I’d make a scene as others have suggested. My 2019 F250 had the death wobble around 18,000 miles. I made an appointment and took it in. Service manager told me it might be at least a week before they could get to it. With a waiting room full of people, I said I should of bought another Duramax instead. He said something negative about GM, and as loud as I could I told him that my Duramax never tried to kill me at 75mph. He got real quiet and I had it back that afternoon. It’s been good ever since. (Knock on wood.)

Took my '18 Taco in for service and the service writer said it has a recall, something to do with the fuel pump. I told him that unless they have the part in stock and can get it back today, they are to do nothing but the oil change. Two hours later, truck is ready. Recall done? Uh, no.

Does the truck run and drive? Is the recall for something major? I think I would get my truck back until they could guarantee the parts were in stock and service could be performed.

Hold up, there's a recall for this? My wife has a 2017 that does the same thing from time to time. I took it in and they didn't say nothing about a recall. Do you happen to have the recall number for this?

That computer for the truck is available on eBay. I was going to say to everyone recommending causing a scene and complaining or whatever that the dealer can't do anything about inability to get parts so seems kind of silly, but maybe you can convince them to simply buy the parts elsewhere or install the part you bring in yourself rather than stick to the official channels.

Justletmein has a good and valid point. I am experiencing a similar situation of the dealer being unable to get the part through their supply channels. Just like suggested Ebay also has the part I need for a different truck and different issue but might be the route I end up having to go.
