Using that to prove to my wife that guns are a good investment. Any idea what year that catalog was from? I'd love to grab a handful of 1100 20 gauges at that price.

Somewhere back in the early 80's someone was looking at that new Gibsons mailer and thinking of the good ol days when guns where not that expensive.

My mom bought my dad that Marlin 30-30 from Gibson for about that price and that was about 37 years ago. Still have it to this day.

We went to Gibsons in Beaumont all the time when I was a kid.

What year was that. My first shotgun was a Mossberg my Dad got at Gibson's.

They had single shots advertised for $59 but they were sold out. The guy behind the counter told my Dad he'd give him a bolt action for the same price. He came out with a Pump. My Dad said he'd take them all at that price. It was the last one they had.

Oh man, what I wouldn’t do to get a marlin 30-30 for $80!

"Over $100 for an Ithaca pump?!?"
Uh... people in those days were crying about how high those prices were.
                        Perspective is relative!

Yes those were the good old days. We were all making about 3.50 an hour.

I worked at one in High School in the sporting goods section. Man I loved that place. I think they still have one in Weatherford. At least they did a couple of years ago.

There’s still a Gibsons in Weatherford but the price sheet doesn’t look anything like that one.

I do go in there every time I visit my dad, love the store.
