I was drawn for Big Bend a few years ago, and it was by compartment. So I did not know what compartment I would be in, plus, I couldn't find a map anywhere with the compartments on them. I was not able to use google earth or other means to scout since that park is so massive. They assigned compartments the day it began. My compartment ended up being 10.5 square miles, or 6600 acres. With that much area, I took a bunch of cameras with me and placed them on trails that looked promising while I walked other parts of my compartment. I did a lot of glassing, but ended up not seeing anything while hunting. I did see 5 mule deer on my drive in so I thought I would of gotten something. But having 6600 acres to myself, and only 4 days, I feel like I should of picked an area and stay there rather than try to hunt the entire compartment.
