Tempted to walk on ice here in Lubbock come Monday or Tuesday. Will stay on the edges of the playa lakes in case it does crack so it’s just my calves that get wet.

I always waited for 5 inches to fish up north. I can’t imagine you’ll see close to that in 5 days unless it’s real cold where you’re at

I walked on ice for a split second a few days ago. Just a thin layer under snow. That's literally how long it took for my feet to fly out from under me. The back of my head bounced off the concrete like a basketball. I don't mind the cold. Hate snow, ice and everything else that comes with it.

It's a good way to get a concussion, knocked out or killed dead as a doornail. Ain't nothin fun about that crap.

If you hear it cracking get off of it quickly. I know from experience luckily it was a duck pond which wasn’t very deep and I was young and invincible.

Im hoping our pond freezes over. On the other hand the closest Ive ever come to dying was on a partially frozen playa lake trying to recover a dang duck.

Borrow some from the locker room at Cambell Soup. I heard they have a couple of ex pro amateur skaters that work there

I always take my bear hunting buddy with me.. He's fatter and slower than me. I'd send him first to walk on a frozen pond.
