I know y'all are practicing pretty strict management and I'm curious as to how old he was.

I walked up on a toad of a 10-point today at 2:15 while I was headed to my stand. Unfortunately he saw me first and took off before I even realized what the heck was going on. Man that was a good deer.

I put dad on a stud 8pt in Anderson Co. This year has been pretty good to my family. I stuck a doe and a 145" 10 on public in oct. Wife killed a mature 8 in Anderson Co in nov (118"). And then I took dad to hunt in Anderson Co and he shot this 8 (130") First time we have sat together and actually killed. We have always had the lone wolf mentality of spreading out. So it made for a great memory to hold onto for a long time. Plus he has never been one to pass deer so I had to coach him through not shooting one really good up and coming 8pt. Fun time for sure.

I cut it up in strips, caramelize some onions in a cast iron skillet, throw in the heart strips with some garlic powder, cracked pepper and some homeade sweet cajun seasoning....rare to medium rare. Slap yo momma!

The cattle guy was down there when I killed em tending to his cows and he helped me load him. He was a pig of a deer. We had him as a 5yr old, give or take.

Seen 4 bucks and 2 doe monday evening. #3 buck came in but I passed. “ME” was there Saturday, Sunday at last light. Walked under my stand 30 minutes after I left Monday night. Seen 6 bucks and a doe yesterday evening. Everyone but “ME”... got excited for a second as I thought I had him,... but ended up being the 9 again. They were all grouped up! He should be a home body now. This was best chance to get him last 2 years
