I vote CVA as well and if you can afford to get one with the nitride coating. I have one with and one without the coating and cleaning is night and day better.

Tagging this one, I think I’m going to get into the smoke pole soon too.

Recently bought a CVA optima v2 and am really impressed with quality and accuracy. The quick release plug on the CVAs is a great feature.

Either will work fine, but CVA Wolf is hard to beat considering the price for an entry level.

There are MUCH better performing bullets than Powerbelts, avoid them. Part of the fun is finding a bullet/powder combo your barrel likes. For killing power Barnes Expanders are tough to beat at blackpowder velocities. Over the years I’ve learned to prefer heavier bullets if given the choice, but either 300g or 250g will perform well.

I use a CVA Optima V2 and love it! Accurate, light, affordable and hits deer like a freight train. Mine likes 250 gr Shockwave bullets (.45 cal bullet in a .50 cal sabot) with 100 grains of Blackhorn 209 powder.
