All set at the disc plot. Wind is pretty good, but swirling occasionally

First deer of the hunt. A button buck.

Also wind picked up and we had a few minutes of a pretty hood hail/snow down fall.

Just had a buck come through that has one side of his antlers all deformed. Probably a 3 year old buck.

Discussing strategic strategies for tomorrow. Travis retired early tonight, should have some good sits for tomorrow regardless.

I wound up having a total of 12 deer around me right at dark last night and waited in the stand for another 45 minutes until they all moved off so I wouldnít spook them.

Of the 4 bucks seen, all were yearlings, with this little 7 point being the biggest of the bunch. Snapped a pic of him as he walked into the plot to check out the scrape tree

Beef and barley were browned on the stove last night and the soup is simmering on the crockpot for when the morning hunt is finished

Duck hunters set up a spread about 150 yards down the river from me and were shooting volleys in my direction. I think the shotgun reports had things on edge in that finger of brush where the foodplot I was sitting on is located

Crawled down and headed back to the house to regroup and make a game plan for mid-day sit

Just going through some of the game cam pics from the cards we pulled yesterday. Saw something I've personally never seen before...a doe working a scrape. I've always heard that it happens this way, but personally I've never actually seen one work the licking branch above a scrape and urinate in it.

Jack pulled the camera card at East Chair before walking out this morning in hopes of getting some better pictures of the buck he saw early this morning. He's definitely got some body mass and looks to be a pretty good deer...and Jack is headed back there this afternoon to see if he can get on this buck again...

All set at Dancefloor for the evening sit...moved over here to see what might be moving in the oak flats...

Took a pretty good one horned buck the first year we hunted this farm off of this very oak flat on the bluffs just above the bean fields
