Needing New String & BC for Old Hoyt

I've got an older Hoyt Alphatec that I need to get the strings replaced. Do I need to order them first or do I just need to drop it off at an archery shop and let them order them? This will be my first time to do something like this. I am in the Bay City area but hunt in Fredericksburg and travel up there quite often.

That is one option. The other is to contact a string maker and order a string and cable set. You can even choose color combinations that way. Take the bow and the new string to the shop and wait for them to install them rather than leaving the bow. Or spend a few bucks and buy a portable bow press (really a come along) and do the job yourself.

I took the only bow I had restrung to Live Oak in Bryan. They made the string and installed it. It is great. Need to do the same with my current bow.
