    Will Pigs Eat Your Alfalfa?

Well I don’t know about “your” alfalfa but they destroyed mine. Took them hours to find it. Lol!

Poor deer, don’t have a thing to eat.

    Anyone else had this happen?

Lol ours don’t totally destroy it, but they really don’t mess with it too much.
What’s weird is if it is on the ground our deer won’t touch it.

Nothing eats it if I put it out. It just rots.

Hogs will eat almost anything and destroy most things.

Our pigs root around in the hay, not alfalfa where the cattle guy puts out round bales. Our deer never touched it.

Alfalfa and cotton seed don’t stand a chance on my place. Complete waste of money unless I want fatter hogs.

Have had the hogs eat cotton seed and regurgitate it at a previous lease in South Texas. I throw alfalfa hay in my feeder pen. I do have one hog that is jumping in. I will find out next week based on pics if he is eating the alfalfa hay. Will post them if he is.

Hogs will eat alfalfa and lay on it and stink it up.

                    Do the deer eat it?

It's kind of odd. Sometimes they will walk right past it for days and then tear it up. Other times it's almost gone after the first night. Ya just never can trust a wild hog. Lol

I would guess it depends on how hungry they are. Pigs aren’t ruminants.

I put some out on my lease in deep south Texas and nothing touched it.

We had arrowleaf clover patch in east tex...and Hogs would Graze on it like cows in late winter and E spring...So I would think they would eat A Hay
