      Looking at leaves I would say black walnut, there is a lot of that in the creeks and drainages around Angelo area, but I can’t remeber ever seeing that double pod shaped nut cluster. They usually just round.

        That is what I thought until I saw the fruit. I think he nailed it with Mexican Buckeye.

          It is 100% Mexican Buckeye. I have one planted in my backyard. Cool trees/bushes and beautiful in the spring bloom

                    When I was a tyke we used to grind them up and throw them into a stream. It would paralyze fish so you could catch them easily. But ground up they stunk.
