Yes and of course he immediately hung up.

Actually I'm still shooting the Vtec I bought from Double B Archery. You see, I heard about this guy called Dave Ramsey and listened to his radio program for a while then ended up reading one of his books, attending a "Live Event", and taking a Financial Peace University class. I don't get a new bow every year or two any more but even with all of Sandy's medical issues, we're debt free but for the house.

Really some of these older guys have so much frustration built up.

Is it years of dealing with the wrong customers or just a character flaw to begin with?

or just a bow tech gene?

Any you bowshop guys care to respond? (I wont call any names)
As a shop owner I'll chime in on this one. I think a lot of it (customer service) has to do with experience and training. I have always treated all of my customers with respect. To me customer service is #1, but then again I have worked mass retail before opening my own shop. I worked at Walmart for 10+ years and then ran the archery department at Gander for another 2. Working for someone else especially a mass retialer you are instilled the ways of exceptional service. If I had started my own retail business without this experience then things might be different. Having a good personality and patience is also a must. I'm a people person so it comes easily. I enjoy helping people especially kiddos and newbies. I have been in numerous shops and have had mostly positive experiences but there have been a couple of times were I too thought WOW this guy is in the wrong business. Guess it depends on numerous things but like I said past experience in dealing with the public goes a long way.

HA! funny. A few months ago I had to get some hot tub parts from New Braunsfuls so I cut though sattler and just happens to pass the Viking shop.

I decided to step in and look around. I didn't need anything but wanted to see if there was anything I might want there and check the prices out.
The shop was spaciouse and clean. I walked around and the old guy watched me from the far corner. I was checking everything out. When I got near him I said how are you...told him I was just checking his place out. I live in Wimberley and have never been there before. He muttered something under his breath...then asked if I was going to buy anything with a tone...

I laughed at him. I said wow it's true you are an ...hole. Just like the guys on TBH said you are..I walked out. His face was red.

Tim is bi polar and this explains everything. And yes I got the treatment in 1998. Have not been back since. My then 12 year old son left an arrow in a target as we were escorted out.

I 'almost' feel bad for the old man. He seems so bitter at life and his surroundings. Makes you want to kill him with kindness till he steams lol.

I have actually had an argument with the old man and had it come out fine. I think for some reason he liked me. I've had really good experiences with the others guys as well. When my son was very young I took him to Viking and Tim spent about two hours with us and eventually sold us the right bow for him. He was solid gold that day. Now, I have seen him go off on others.

But, don't ask them why they don't sell Mathews or Bowtech bows. You won't like the answer. I shoot Mathews bows so I don't go there much anymore.

We need to take up a collection for gas money to send Burnadel down there!

For the record, I`ve never been there, but if I am ever in the area I`ll probably
stop by for a little entertainment!
