Fish broke Son's new rod...

My 12 year old son was up at the farm swimming yesterday and wanted to do a little fishing with his new cheap Lew's rod and reel he got for bass and crappie fishing. He hooked a big ole cat on a spinner and it broke his rod. He was pretty pumped even though his rod was broke. In the last month or so he has really taken a liking to fishing so I'm gonna try to get him on the water as much as possible. When he was little he really didn't care for hunting or fishing and now he loves both. Looks like it's time to buy him better gear.

Good times for sure! My 12yo would kill to have that pond in our backyard! Do y’all have bass in it or just catfish?
