I’d let it pass but keep a close eye on it. My Blood hound ate a whole dish rag and passed it. It hurt her though.

        Sure it's not a worm.

Let it try to pass on his own.

Had this happen several times, step on it with your foot and make the dog run.

                Maybe with some stool softener?

I pulled a long rag outta mine... it slid out without an issue lol
Obviously if its showing a bit of resistance I would let it stay maybe snip the end off

DO NOT PULL THE STRING! Chances are most likely that it's a short piece that will pass on its own, but occasionally a longer piece can cause serious problems. If the intestines have accordioned up on the string it can cause an intussusception, which can be fatal if not treated (whichbrrquires surgery). Just let it pass, but if it doesn't come out in a day or two, it's time to call the Vet.

I had a dumba** BIL who had a dumba** German Shepherd mix who decided to eat a bunch of Owens Cornings Pink Insulation batting.

When he started to pass it, he was running around like his butt was on fire. Even if we wanted to pull it, there was no way we could have caught that dog.

Incredibly he passed all of it on his own after about 2 hours.

My dog popped and ate a plastic ball. He was dragging his rear trying to get it to come out. Wasn't pretty!
