    Axis down

Wind was howling today around 2:30 or so and I was able to get within 30 yards of a axis buck laid up close to a creek bed. I was up a littler higher than the buck. Drove the arrow through his shoulder and came out the opposite side in his arm pit. He didn’t know what hit him. He stood up after a sec and walked about 15 yards and crashed. Not a monster but he will eat.

Thank goodness for a sandy cattle trail and the wind howling cause other wise I sound like a buffalo in that dead grass.

Nice. Got a head start on some good venison for the freezer.
