Transporting a ranch truck to the shop?

My deer lease truck in Menard has a clunking in the front end that I’m tired of hearing.
I need to get it 10 miles to town to have it diagnosed and repaired.
Since driving it to the lease a couple of years ago I’ve let the registration laps and it is currently uninsured.

My question is how do y’all go about this?

To get it to town legally I could -
    1. Have it towed via a tow truck both ways
    2. Trailer it with a trailer I’d have to rent or borrow
    3. Tow it with my Daily driver.
    4. Get a 30 day permit and insure it for the time it’s on the road.

Any other options I’m missing here?

    Thanks for any replies/recommendations.

Car dolly rental from Uhaul? Looks like it’s around 40-50 bucks a day.

Go for it. What are the odds getting stopped? I doubt any cop will give you smack. I drove our lease truck 11 miles to Fredericksburg to get gas, passed a sheriff deputy. No worries

Just drive it..... dang that seems to simple .

The lovely town of Menard has LE parked in front of the True Value dang near every time I pass it.
Rumor has it they like to hand out the tickets.

I always do THE speed limit and give them a wave as I drive by.

Shoot there's been folks using tow bars (homemade ones from the looks of some) across the state for years headed to Mexico, you shouldn't have any trouble going 10 miles into town.

I think you can get a one way permit to legally get it there...

I’ve only used it for trailers, but it’s like 5 bucks.

Drive it on the shoulder with the hazard lights on.
