Iím thinking yes, but Iíd have to see him in person to make a final decision.

What I think dosenít mean squat for you though. I say if he trips your trigger and will make you happy, then shoot him!

He's a tank.

I'll likely shoot him if I get the chance.

I never know until they walk out. If I know I immediately know if I have to think about it Iím usually disappointed when I walk up to them. By the picture he looks like a mature deer to me

I would. Our deer are not all that great this year. Seeing lots of busted up antlers and the deer are pretty lean. I shot a buck last Thursday and was surprised that there was no kidney fat in him. Your deer appears to be in pretty good condition.

This area stayed green all summer. There were a lot of doe who had twins and they got a tad lean from nursing but overall the herd came out in great shape.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he is past his prime.
He's pretty healthy, and a brute.

He was down there pigging out from about 10:30 to 11:30 last night, and I watched him with the binos for that whole time. I'll definitely shoot him.

I didn't go after him this morning.
No sleep last night because of my shoulders, and I darn sure want to be in shape for the shot.

Better pic for my Bro Bisch.

So, we've seen the antlers. He's a typical 8 point.

Now you've seen a full body picture in my last post, and here's one with a slightly different angle.

How old do you guess he is?

I got to watch a heck of a good show from all the deer around me.

I could have arrowed any one of a dozen, but the buck never showed.

Tomorrow's another day. :-)

Situational. 10k lease, no. Past E. Texas lease, Heck yes. Where I'm hunting in Sabine NF, I passed on three 8s that size or bigger two weekends ago.

You're fortunate. The last two days were slow for us. I had the priest from our church our and he finally made a bad shot on a doe tonight that turned into a dead deer in 50 yards. Last year he took his first with a rifle, this year I told him no rifles, had to use crossbow.
But I had 6 fawn and 1 doe forbath long time this evening. Guess mommas had date nights and farmed out the kids.

This buck came in tonight chasing doe, but never got close enough for a shot. Tomorrows another day.

Never pass on the first day what you would shoot on the last day. If he is legal and makes you happy, let her fly.

Squinty eyes and roman nose, look at the brisket fat roll on that frontal shot.
He's mature for sure, good luck and show us the teeth after the harvest.

I suspect someone has already busted this buck. Haven't seen him in a couple of days, and have some smaller bucks hanging around now. I don't think the smaller ones would be here so regular if the big feller was still around.

He vanished for a long time, but showed back up on the 8th. Unfortunately it was at 2 a.m.

Haven't seen him again since, but the hunting has slowed way down around here, so he may still be out there.

He ain't going to get any bigger, he's old. Could be on the down hill. Body is big, rack is not that big, I would bet he used to sport a larger rack two or three years ago.
